Snuff out cyberattacks with managed detection and response (MDR)

360-degree proactive protection with Dell Managed Detection and Response

Cyberattacks are increasing in number and complexity. This makes it all the more important to put up effective defenses before any damage ensues. Dell Technologies and DataStore AG have joined forces to enable fast, effective protection against threats – with 24/7 managed detection and response (MDR).

How can you protect your critical IT infrastructure and environment effectively against attacks? This is a key issue for both companies and public authorities alike. Security threats are becoming more complex and are happening more often. The National Cyber Security Center (NCSC) reported twice as many cases in 2021 compared to the previous year – and we are seeing this trend continue to rise sharply in the current year. In most cases, victims of cyberattacks not only suffer significant financial losses, but also have to deal with reputational damage and loss of image. To prevent such consequences, companies are eager to find the best protection against cyberthreats. Among the various measures, the main focus is on rapid detection and an appropriate response to threats in order to ward off major damage before it's too late.

In light of a shortage of skilled workers, how can companies protect themselves against cyberattacks?

This current climate means companies are faced with a variety of challenges. Owing to the ongoing shortage of skilled workers, it has become very difficult to find qualified security specialists. IT teams are already at full capacity with their day-to-day operations and often lack the resources to set up 24/7 security procedures. Last but not least, interpreting fragmented data from a wide range of security products puts a strain on resources, both in terms of time and expertise.

Full-service solution

The ideal solution comes in the form of managed threat detection and response. Dell Technologies Managed Detection and Response (MDR) provides a 24/7 end-to-end service for companies with a minimum of 50 endpoints (desktops, laptops, firewalls, servers, etc.). The service covers threat monitoring, detection, investigation, and response – including highly sophisticated or hidden threats – throughout the entire IT environment.

Thanks to 24/7 security monitoring, new attacks are proactively identified and isolated – regardless of whether they occur via endpoints, networks, or the cloud. Uniform detection across the entire environment ensures a comprehensive overview of end-to-end activities carried out by attackers. Dell Technologies Managed Detection and Response uses leading Secureworks® TaegisTM XDR security analytics software. This involves using Secureworks attack data from more than 1,400 incident response projects annually. The threat database is continuously updated to ensure that state-of-the-art protection is in place.

High security status thanks to quick response

If a monitoring alert requires closer attention, the team of analysts will respond appropriately. The response strategies are based on more than 20 years’ experience in leading security processes. If intervention is required to support the MDR customer, the experts will provide step-by-step instructions. The 40 hours of active remote correction under supervision per quarter included in the service guarantee extremely fast response and correction, even in the case of complex attack scenarios.

The service also includes 40 hours of remote incident response control per year, in order to initiate investigations and measures against cyber incidents. Here, too, certified security specialists are on hand, offering expert support even in serious cases thanks to their extensive experience.

Effective protection with expertise

Experts from Dell Technologies and DataStore bring a wealth of knowledge and years of experience to the table – expertise which MDR users benefit from. Expert professionals will advise you from the initial setup phase to response in the event of an emergency. Dell Technologies Managed Detection and Response improves the security status of organizations quickly and sustainably. This significantly reduces the strain placed on IT teams and allows them to use the newly available resources in other areas, thus increasing efficiency and minimizing costs.
