Next generation Dell Technologies backup solution for small and medium businesses

Dell has launched the new DM5500 backup appliance, an integrated backup appliance designed from the ground up to provide simple and modern data protection and storage within a 2U integrated appliance that provides quick deployment, intuitive management and cyber resilience. Customers only need one piece of hardware on two units to store backup data with capacities ranging from 12TB to 96TB after deduplication. The license of the backup software PowerProtect Data Manager is also included. Thus, data from any number of systems can be backed up to the DM5500 appliance.
Worry-free backup solution
This is the ideal solution for small to mid-sized businesses that want to back up their applications and data securely and easily. With just a few clicks, VMware environments, Kubernetes, Oracle, Microsoft SQL and Exchange, SAP HANA, Windows, Linux and AIX file systems and workloads on AWS, Azure and Google Cloud can be backed up. Further features such as cyber recovery, cloud tiering, cloud disaster recovery, are natively included in the solution. Which enables extension of protection to the cloud with long-term retention, cloud disaster recovery and cloud-native workload protection across multiple public clouds.
Dell has given DataStore AG, as a value-add distributor for data protection and storage solutions, the opportunity to gain experience with the DM5500 system as the first distributor in Switzerland with a so-called seed unit. In addition, the hardware appliance is particularly available for partner and customer demos as well as feasibility studies (proof-of-concept).
